I waffled for awhile and then I came down and made the decision. It was originally November 16th. But now, after some finagling with work, its November 13th which is the perfect date.
I arrive around Noon and check into a hostel near the airport. Next week I'll nail down the dates and times but I should have at least three interviews setup for Monday and Tuesday. I'll rent a car and drive around LA for the very first time on that Monday and I suspect, get woefully lost. Then Tuesday night I go see 2 Broke Girls tape at 6pm. Wednesday I move to the good hotel with my con roommates. I may just be in the hotel that day, not doing much of anything. Thursday, I'm going to see a taping of the late late show with Craig Ferguson. I haven't decided if I'm going to take the bus, rent a car or maybe taxi it. I'll probably rent a car so I can practice driving in LA.
Setup for the con is Thursday night so I'll help with that after I get back. Then I'll be working Friday-Saturday-Sunday for the convention. By monday, i suspect I'll be exhausted! I move to another hostel where I'm pretty sure all I'll do on Monday is sleep!! Hopefully I'll be close to having a job so I can nail down a place to live. I'm a little tired just thinking about it right now! I think I'll make sure I have plenty of vitamins.
I'm saving a fair amoutn of money by staying in hostels and I can always go more expensive by moving to a hotel if I find i'm not sleeping enough.
I think the risk factor gets to me some days. I'm absolutely nervous about not finding a job. I know if I can hang on long enough, i will find one, which is why saving money is so very important. I also want to fill my days with some sightseeing and fun (and free) stuff to do so I get every bit of enjoyment out of the experience.
